Director of Residential Dining-Georgia Tech

Position: Director of Residential Dining
Location: Atlanta, Georgia

The Director of Residential Dining is responsible for management and oversight of all residential dining operations and venues: direct managers, supervisors and staff to ensure that day-to-day unit objectives are consistently met and standards are maintained to ensure the best residential dining experience possible. This position is responsible for a minimum of two residential dining halls and will interact on a regular basis with all levels of faculty, staff, students, and vendors associated with Georgia Tech Dining. This position will primarily advise and counsel other staff members and vendors.

Key Functions:

  • Plan and manage the day-to-day activities for all residential dining staff, and ensure proper implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Supervise all non-kitchen personnel, with oversight for hiring, performance management, annual reviews, and initiating employee status changes.
  • Work with departmental leadership to plan, develop, and manage unit budget to ensure fiscal controls (including cost of goods sold, labor targets and controllable expenses).
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements that ensures a safe and sanitary work environment.
  • Ensure labeling requirements are met and compliance with allergen containment procedures.
  • Implement operation specific sustainability goals and programs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Current ServSafe Certification or other Georgia approved food safety certification.
  • Minimum eight years of food service experience including management.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Proven record of accomplishment in such areas as menu management, innovative residential and cash operation dining service programs, food safety and planning and set-up for special events. Ability to provide culinary training and insight for special dietary needs.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
